Uber's 57 Million Customer Data Was Stolen
Smartphone app based Ride Sharing Network Uber revealed that hackers hacked their 57 Million Customer Data in 2016. But it was kept secret the issue of theft of a large number of passenger and driver information. They said that next time they had to pay one million dollars to hackers in order to delete those personal data of the customers.

Based on Bloomberg's first leaked information, BBC reports that Uber's former chief executive, Travis Kellick was aware the whole issue. Hackers steal names, email addresses and mobile phone numbers  of 57 Million customer. Name and licensing data of 600,000 drivers also captured by them.

Later on they opened a page on their website for the victims that provides assistance for the drivers but did not take such initiative for the passengers. Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said that they did not see any incident of harm to anyone using the information stolen. They are monitoring the accounts of the victims and they have been warned them. After published the news regarding stealing information of Uber customers  the Chief Security Officer Joe Sullivan resigned.
